IWACHU

Nanbu ironware cast in Morioka for over a century — shipped directly from Osaka.

The Story

Cast iron, four centuries in the making

Founded in 1902 in Morioka, Iwate, Iwachu carries on the 400-year tradition of Nanbu Tekki — Japan's most celebrated cast ironware. Tetsubin kettles, skillets, and sukiyaki pans are still sand-cast and hand-finished by craftsmen, made to season with use and outlast their owners.
