These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Sakura Select website, including any purchases made through sakuraselect.jp (the “Website”).

The Website is operated by ArtCo Co., Ltd. (ArtCo株式会社) under the store name Sakura Select. Throughout these Terms, “Sakura Select,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to ArtCo Co., Ltd.

By accessing the Website, creating an account, or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, Refund Policy, and any other policies referenced on the Website.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the Website.

1. Online Store Terms

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of your parent or legal guardian, to place an order through the Website.

You may not use our products, Website, or services for any unlawful, fraudulent, unauthorized, or prohibited purpose. You must not transmit viruses, malicious code, or any other material that may interfere with the Website or its users.

A breach of these Terms may result in the suspension or termination of your access to our services.

2. Product Information

Sakura Select sells Japanese products, including outdoor equipment, fishing tackle, kitchenware, tableware, coffee equipment, apparel, and related goods.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, photographs, availability, and prices are accurate. However:

  • Product colors may appear differently depending on your screen or device.
  • Packaging, accessories, specifications, country of manufacture, and product design may change without notice.
  • Product photographs may include props or accessories that are not included.
  • Measurements and weights may contain minor differences.
  • Translated product information is provided for convenience. Where there is a material difference, the original information provided by the Japanese manufacturer may take precedence.

Customers are responsible for checking product dimensions, specifications, compatibility, handedness, voltage, size, intended use, and import eligibility before ordering.

3. Japanese Domestic Models and Manufacturer Warranties

Some products sold by Sakura Select are Japanese domestic market models, commonly referred to as JDM products.

Manufacturer warranties, repair services, replacement parts, software, manuals, or customer support may be limited to Japan. A manufacturer or its overseas distributor may refuse warranty service for products purchased outside its authorized local distribution network.

Unless expressly stated on the product page, Sakura Select does not guarantee that a Japanese manufacturer’s warranty will be valid outside Japan.

This does not affect any rights you may have against Sakura Select under applicable law or our published Refund Policy.

4. Prices and Currency

Product prices are displayed in the currency selected or shown on the Website. Currency conversions may be estimates and can vary depending on the payment provider, card issuer, or exchange rate used.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • Product prices do not include international import duties, customs charges, brokerage fees, local taxes, or other destination-country charges.
  • Shipping fees are calculated separately at checkout.
  • Your bank or payment provider may charge foreign transaction or currency conversion fees.

We reserve the right to change product prices at any time. A price change will not normally affect an order that we have already accepted.

5. Orders and Contract Formation

Submitting an order does not automatically mean that we have accepted it. The order confirmation email acknowledges that we have received your order.

An order is accepted when we confirm shipment, otherwise expressly confirm acceptance, or begin fulfilling the order.

We reserve the right to refuse, limit, hold, or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including when:

  • The product is unavailable or discontinued.
  • The listed price or product information contains an obvious error.
  • Payment cannot be authorized or verified.
  • The order is identified as potentially fraudulent or unusually high-risk.
  • The shipping address is incomplete, incorrect, or unsupported.
  • The product cannot legally or safely be shipped to the destination.
  • The order appears to be placed for unauthorized resale or other prohibited activity.
  • An event outside our reasonable control prevents fulfillment.

If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will refund the applicable amount to the original payment method.

6. Payment and Fraud Prevention

You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing, shipping, and payment information.

By submitting payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the selected payment method.

To protect customers and our business, we may request additional verification before shipping, such as confirmation of:

  • The purchaser’s identity;
  • The cardholder’s name;
  • The billing or shipping address;
  • The recipient’s relationship to the purchaser; or
  • Other information reasonably necessary to verify the transaction.

We may delay or cancel an order if the requested verification is not provided within a reasonable period.

7. Pre-Orders and Backorders

Products identified as “Pre-Order,” “Coming Soon,” “Made to Order,” “Backorder,” or similar may not be immediately available.

Release dates and estimated arrival dates are based on information provided by manufacturers or suppliers and are not guaranteed. Production, allocation, transportation, or customs delays may occur.

If a pre-ordered product is materially delayed, discontinued, or cannot be supplied, we may contact you with available options, which may include:

  • Continuing to wait;
  • Removing the affected item from the order;
  • Selecting an alternative product; or
  • Cancelling the affected item for a refund.

Unless otherwise stated, in-stock products ordered together with pre-order products may be shipped together after all products become available. Additional shipping charges may apply if you request separate shipments.

8. Shipping and Delivery

Orders are shipped from Japan using the delivery methods available at checkout or described in our Shipping Policy.

Delivery dates are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delivery may be affected by customs inspections, carrier delays, weather, public holidays, remote-area handling, security checks, strikes, natural disasters, or other events outside our reasonable control.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. We are not responsible for delays, failed delivery, or additional costs caused by an incorrect or incomplete address supplied by the customer.

Please review our Shipping Policy for further information about available shipping methods, estimated delivery periods, tracking, and shipping restrictions.

9. Customs, Duties and Import Restrictions

International customers are responsible for checking whether a product can legally be imported, possessed, or used in the destination country or region.

Unless duties and taxes are expressly shown as included at checkout, the recipient is responsible for all applicable:

  • Import duties;
  • Customs charges;
  • Sales taxes, VAT, GST, or similar taxes;
  • Brokerage and customs-clearance fees;
  • Storage charges; and
  • Other charges imposed by local authorities or carriers.

Customs authorities may open, inspect, delay, seize, return, or destroy a shipment according to local law. Sakura Select cannot guarantee customs clearance.

We are not responsible for losses caused by a customer’s failure to comply with local import regulations. However, nothing in this section excludes responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Refused, Unclaimed or Undeliverable Shipments

If a shipment is refused, remains unclaimed, or is returned because of an incorrect address, unpaid customs charges, failed delivery attempts, or the customer’s failure to complete customs procedures, the customer may be responsible for the resulting costs.

Where a returned product is received by us in resalable condition, any refund will be handled in accordance with our Refund Policy. Original shipping charges, return shipping charges, customs fees, carrier charges, and other non-recoverable costs may be deducted from the refund where permitted by law.

A refund cannot be issued for a shipment that has not been returned to us unless otherwise required by applicable law.

11. Order Changes and Cancellations

If you wish to change or cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible.

We cannot guarantee that an order can be changed or cancelled after it has entered the packing or shipping process. Once shipped, the order will generally be handled as a return under our Refund Policy.

Pre-orders, made-to-order items, personalized products, hygiene-sensitive goods, clearance products, and other specially identified products may have separate cancellation conditions, to the extent permitted by law.

12. Returns, Refunds and Damaged Products

Returns, exchanges, refunds, damaged products, missing items, and incorrect products are governed by our Refund Policy.

Customers should inspect delivered products promptly. If a product arrives damaged, defective, incomplete, or different from the product ordered, contact us within the period specified in our Refund Policy and provide:

  • Your order number;
  • A description of the issue;
  • Photographs of the product;
  • Photographs of the shipping box and packaging; and
  • Any other information reasonably required for carrier or insurance claims.

Do not discard the product, packaging, labels, or shipping materials until we confirm that they are no longer required.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights available under applicable law.

13. Proper Use and Safety

Customers are responsible for reading and following all manufacturer instructions, warnings, maintenance requirements, age restrictions, and safety information.

Products such as knives, cookware, camping stoves, fuel-related equipment, fire pits, fishing equipment, electrical products, and outdoor gear must be used only for their intended purpose and in compliance with local laws.

Sakura Select is not responsible for damage caused by improper installation, unauthorized modification, misuse, neglect, ordinary wear and tear, failure to follow instructions, or use in unsuitable conditions, except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

14. Accuracy of Website Information

Information on the Website is provided for general reference and may be updated without notice.

We may correct typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions relating to product descriptions, pricing, promotions, shipping fees, availability, or other content. Where an error affects an order, we may contact you to obtain instructions or cancel and refund the affected order.

15. Promotions and Discount Codes

Discount codes and promotions:

  • Must be used within the stated validity period;
  • Cannot normally be exchanged for cash;
  • Cannot normally be applied after an order has been placed;
  • May be restricted to certain products, customers, destinations, or minimum order values; and
  • Cannot be combined unless expressly stated otherwise.

We may cancel or refuse a promotion where it has been used fraudulently, unlawfully, or contrary to its published conditions.

16. Intellectual Property

All Website content, including text, design, layout, graphics, logos, photographs, videos, product descriptions, and other materials created by or for Sakura Select, is owned by or licensed to ArtCo Co., Ltd. and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may use the Website for personal, non-commercial shopping purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, sell, scrape, systematically download, or commercially exploit Website content without our prior written permission.

Third-party product names, trademarks, logos, and brand names belong to their respective owners. Their appearance on the Website does not necessarily mean that Sakura Select is sponsored, endorsed, or officially authorized by those owners.

17. Third-Party Services and Links

The Website may use or link to third-party services, including Shopify, payment providers, delivery companies, review platforms, social-media services, and external websites.

Third-party services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, availability, security, or practices of an independent third party, except to the extent required by law.

18. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Website:

  • For unlawful or fraudulent purposes;
  • To infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights;
  • To submit false or misleading information;
  • To place orders using unauthorized payment information;
  • To introduce malicious code;

  • To avoid purchase limits or other restrictions; or
  • To resell products in violation of applicable law, brand restrictions, or these Terms.

We may suspend access or cancel affected orders where we reasonably believe prohibited activity has occurred.

We aim to provide accurate information and reliable service, but the Website may occasionally be unavailable, delayed, or affected by technical errors.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Website and its content are provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that all Website content will always be current or complete.

This disclaimer does not apply to warranties or obligations that cannot legally be excluded.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sakura Select and ArtCo Co., Ltd. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses arising from the use of the Website or products, including loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity, or data.

Where we are liable in connection with an order, our liability will generally be limited to the amount paid for the affected product, except in cases of intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts rights or remedies provided by mandatory consumer-protection law, including Japan’s Consumer Contract Act where applicable.

21. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify ArtCo Co., Ltd. against reasonable losses, claims, and expenses arising directly from your unlawful use of the Website, fraudulent conduct, infringement of third-party rights, or material breach of these Terms.

22. Privacy

Our collection, use, storage, and disclosure of personal information are governed by our Privacy Policy.

By using the Website, you acknowledge that information may be processed by service providers involved in operating the store, processing payments, preventing fraud, and delivering orders.

23. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services, business practices, or legal obligations.

The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise required by law.

Your continued use of the Website after the updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those changes.

24. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

25. No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other right.

26. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any transaction made through the Website are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Osaka District Court will have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance over disputes arising from or relating to the Website, these Terms, or an order.

This section does not deprive consumers of any mandatory rights or protections available under the laws of their country or region of residence.
