Handmade Edo Glass Round Cup in Traditional Plum Purple, Flecked with Gold Leaf

Bring a quietly luxurious touch to your table with the Toyo Sasaki Glass Yachiyo Kiln Round Cup in Ume-murasaki (梅紫, plum purple), one of Japan's traditional colors. Yachiyo Kiln glassware is born from a kiln in Yachiyo, in the old province of Shimōsa, and this piece inherits the production methods of Edo glass (江戸硝子), designated a Traditional Craft of Japan by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Gold leaf is scattered through the glass, and a time-honored traditional color is expressed through shades of light and depth that make the most of the glass's transparency. The result is a lustrous, softly rounded vessel with a refined, understated presence.
